BULK MILK COOLER
A Bulk Milk Cooler as the name suggests is a cooling tank to cool the milk in bulk quantity. It is also known as Farm Milk Cooling Tank.
FUNCTION
A bulk milk cooler (BMC) tank cools the milk to 4 deg C in a predesigned time so that keeping quality of milk is enhanced. Unchilled raw milk is highly susceptible to bacterial spoilage. Chilling the milk to less than 4 deg C hinders the growth of bacteria present in milk and hence prevents spoilage. It is important to chill the milk within 3 hours of milking. BMC also stores the milk till it is further used / processed.
DESIGN
BMC is a three layer tank. Inner tank is provided with laser welded dimple jacketed , it is then PUF insulated and cladded with stainless steel. Milk inside the tank is chilled by direct expansion of refrigerant which is flooded in the dimple jacket.
PUF insulation ensures maintaining the temperature once chilled and prevents rise in temperature due to heat loss.
Agitator in the tank work intermittently and helps in efficient heat transfer for cooling the milk. A digital temperature gauge display the milk temperature.
Standard equipment comes with Tecumseh or Emerson make reciprocating type compressors. Optionally Danfoss make or Scroll type compressors are also available.

BMC are available from capacity range starting from 100 Liters and available in standard sizes of 200 L, 500 L, 1 Kl, 2 KL, 3 KL, 5 KL and 10 KL. On request other sizes can be provided.
SINGLE, TWO AND THREE MILKING TANKS
When the Cooling tank is filled with full capacity at one go and whole of milk is to be cooled from 35 to 4 deg C , it is single milking tank. Two time milking implies 50 % loading in morning and 50% loading in evening and 3-milking means loading the BMC thrice - 1/3 each time.

OPEN & CLOSED TYPE
Standard models of BMCs are available in open type, horizontal and D-shape up to 2000 Liters capacity.
2 KL BMC is also available as closed type. 3 KL and above are available as closed type.
On customer request, smaller capacity range can also be given as closed type. Customer has to request for price for any non-standard type.
